About
Open Door Platforms provides dynamic spaces for creatives, small businesses and the film industry by offering a diverse range of services tailored to support artists, entrepreneurs, and filmmakers. Across eight commercial buildings from Gastown to Commecrial Drive we manage a network of 100 studios providing an inspiring environment for individuals to nurture their talents and pursue their creative and commercial endeavours.
For artists, we offer purpose-built studios designed to foster innovation and collaboration. These spaces serve as sanctuaries where painters, sculptors, photographers, and other creatives can immerse themselves in their work surrounded by like-minded individuals. Whether it's a painter seeking natural light, a sculptor in need of industrial workspace, or a photographer craving a unique backdrop, our artist buildings try to offer something for everybody.
In addition to creative studios, we also provides flexible workspaces tailored to the needs of small businesses and startups. These spaces offer entrepreneurs an opportunity to establish a professional presence without the constraints of long-term leases, or exorbitant rents. With amenities such as high-speed internet, communal areas, and access to business support services, the workspaces serve as incubators for innovation and entrepreneurship.
We also work with the local film industry, offering unique production and filming locations that capture the essence of East Vancouver's urban landscape. From industrial warehouses to historic buildings, each location provides a distinctive backdrop for film and television productions. With a dedicated team experienced in facilitating on-site logistics, we offer a seamless experience for filmmakers and crews from pre-production to post-production.
One of our key offerings is the packaging of all-in-one costs. For most spaces we bundle utilities, wifi, maintenance, and other essential services into a single fee included in rent. This helps alleviate the administrative burden and allows tenants to focus on their craft without worrying about hidden expenses or unexpected charges. We are dedicated to making spaces more accessible for creatives, entrepreneurs, small businesses and film by eliminating barriers and streamlining processes. Recognizing the challenges often associated with navigating bureaucratic hurdles and managing overhead costs, especially in an expensive City like Vancouver, we take a proactive approach to remove red tape and simplify the experience for those we work with.
Overall, we hope to play a role in nurturing creativity, fostering community, supporting small business and economic development. By providing platforms for artists, entrepreneurs, and filmmakers to thrive, it contributes to the cultural vibrancy and vitality of our neighborhoods enriching both the local community and the broader creative landscape.
